The Ranting Reviewer does not get paid or receive any revenue from manufacturers or retailers of products reviewed. I occasionally receive products that I am asked to use and see what I think. I take a look, try them out and tell you all about them.
Recently, I was able to cover the 2014 International Home and Housewares show in Chicago as a media representative from the blogging community. While there I was able to spend some time at a number of booths and see some really interesting products. This product was being displayed at the show.
A box for the me?
Inside was the Fruiti Freeze from Viatek Products.
What is the Fruiti Freeze? I’m glad you asked. The Fruiti Freeze churns frozen fruits (and potentially other ingredients) into a soft serve frozen treat. There is no better way to describe it than to show you.
Plug it in, turn it on and remove the plunger from the top. Drop a piece of mostly frozen fruit in the top (it should thaw 5-30 minutes).
Add more fruit and push down with the plunger.
Out the front comes a steady stream of soft serve fruit. Here I used a collection of frozen fruits (peaches, grapes, pineapple, mango) and the fruits mixed together to form a tropical flavored treat.
While there are a number of recipes included with the Fruiti Freeze, the pure, sweet taste of the fruit is great by itself.
I also tried using only mangoes.
Slice your fruit so it fits easily in the chute.
Here you can see the mango soft serve coming out.
It has the consistency of gelato as it comes out.
A delicious treat on top of a chocolate whoopee pie.
My Take: The Fruiti Freeze is a great little machine. It is simple to use, easy to clean as it disassembles in a few seconds and you wash with a little soapy water. The best part about it is that by using purely fruit, you have a healthy dessert that is cool, sweet and very tasty. You can get an intense flavor of a specific fruit by using only one fruit or you can have a fruit medley in your mouth by using a variety all at once. Not included in the pictures, I have used blackberries and bananas (trust me, you will want the sweetness of the banana to offset the unexpected tartness of the blackberries).
For those on a restricted diet, this is a great solution to having a nice treat. No added sugar, or fat and the potential number of flavors is endless. It is perfect by itself but if you want more, you can serve it with ice cream, pound cake or other items. As spring and summer is approaching, I’ll give the Fruiti Freeze quite a workout as a nice treat at the end of a warm day.

It really is a great product. I pulled it out last night when I was making smoothis because I had frozen bananas and knew this would get it into a great consistency for my underpowered blender (to add the fresh strawberries, milk, yogurt). I think this is a great unit for the summer as you end up with cold, healthy desserts that the entire family loves.

Thanks for this! Never heard of it! Had heard bad reviews of the popular machine that used frozen bananas, but there were complaints that it was noisy and difficult to clean, and expensive. I will have to look into this!! Thanks!

I was looking into the frozen fruit dessert makers and seen your comment and was wondering which machine had you seen with the bad reviews? I don’t want to inadvertently buy one that’s not any good. Thanx

As a mom, I really don’t need more gadgets to clutter my kitchen, but this a great reminder to put some frozen fruits into the blender :-))))
