Product Review : Grill and Serve

The Ranting Reviewer does not get paid or receive any revenue from manufacturers or retailers of products reviewed. I occasionally receive products that I am asked to use and see what I think. I take a look, try them out and tell you all about them.

Recently, I was able to cover the 2014 International Home and Housewares show in Chicago as a media representative from the blogging community. While there I was able to spend some time at a number of booths and see some really interesting products. This product was being displayed at the show.

Inside was the Grill & Serve from Gourmet Grillware.

The Grill and Serve is a metal vegetable griller. It is made up of an aluminum alloy that is non-toxic, won’t rust and can go from the freezer to the grill to the table and look great in every place.

I had to put this baby to the test. When I am choosing vegetables to grill, often I am limited to larger items that won’t fall through the cracks. Not this time.

I mixed up corn, grated Brussels Sprouts, black beans, chopped onions and peppers, diced potatoes and some spices.

It is best if you oil the pan before using it. After taking the picture, I spread the oil a little more evenly.

I debated if I wanted to have a “pocket” of each kind of vegetable (onion in one, peppers in another, etc…) or to pre-mix and have different servings in each pocket. I went with the latter, partially because the mix looks so great.

The tray goes right on the grill. Here it is fronting a bacon wrapped pork loin. During grilling when I would turn the pork, I’d stir the veggies.

It went right from the grill to my table. Now keep in mind, the tray gets HOT. So use a glove to carry it and place it on something that will protect your table.

My Take: I like it. I had not seen a grill tray with the pockets before and thought it was interesting. You can also use the “spines” to hold larger items like potatoes or whole peppers that actually elevates them off the tray. The tray is the right size for holding 4-5 servings, it looks great on the table and was easy to clean (don’t forget to oil first and don’t put it in the dishwasher or microwave). Gourmet Grillware has a lot of great products from trays to woks for your grill. Check them out.

  1. Wow those grilled veges look great. I would love the square griller with the long handle. What a great design for the barbeque
