Product Review: Talisman Designs Products

The Ranting Reviewer does not get paid or receive any revenue from manufacturers or retailers of products reviewed. I occasionally receive products that I am asked to use and see what I think. I take a look, try them out and tell you all about them.

Recently a big box came from Talisman Designs.

First out of the box was The Mighty Yolk Hero!

The Yolk Hero is an egg separator. Take this dish of three raw eggs.

Squeeze the Yolk Hero then place it on top of a yolk.

Unsqueeze and the yolk is sucked up inside. Go ahead and lift the Hero up.

The yolk stays in the Hero and the white stays in the dish.

It is very easy to use and makes quick work of separating eggs.

The next item was the One Piece Adjustable Pie Shield.

This device fits around the crust of your pie in place of crumpled up aluminum foil that is a pain to put on. I decided to use it here for a caramel pecan pie. Look at the top of the picture above. You can see how there are two sections that overlap. If my pie plate was bigger this could cover it.

This is post baking. Other than filling my pie too much, everything worked great.

Look at that beautiful crust. The shield peeled off easily and cleaned up in the dishwasher.

The third item was the Butter Bot.

Slide a stick of butter in the bottom.

When you use it, take off the Butter Bot’s head and glide the butter along your ear of corn. There is a “pusher” in the bottom to keep the butter against the corn.

The curved shape of the Bot fits an ear of corn perfectly. The head goes back on to keep the butter fresh for storage in the refrigerator.

The last item was the Angry Animals Salad Set.

Seared into the beechwood are both words,

and images. I think this bunny is angry that I’ll be eating his rabbit food.

I put the set to use as intended, serving salad.

My TakeTalisman Designs makes and eclectic and interesting set of kitchen items. The Yolk Hero and Pie Shield were very effective in their use. The Butter Bot added a fun character to a useful tool and the seared images on the salad set shows quite a bit of creativity. They have quite a few different lines that you should check out here. Talisman Designs products are sold at a number of places including Amazon and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Find out where you can purchase these and other great products here.

  1. And here I thought I had every kitchen gadget available…but no! I must find a Yolk Hero now! I imagine it was fun testing all these gadgets and gizmos, thanks for the reviews 🙂

  2. Hm yolk hero, what is wrong with the oldfashioned way of cracking open the egg and using the eggshell to separate the egg yolk from the egg white? The thought of having to try to get egg protein off a silicon yolk hero makes me shudder…………But I guess the marketing guys need to come up with new gadgets eh?
