Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door. There is a lot to that old saying and it drives some people to improve on some very common objects. Midnight Scoop is doing just that.
Taking a fresh new look at scooping ice cream, the Midnight Scoop was designed by an aerospace engineer.
Opening the box reveals a glistening tool designed to make a common chore much easier. I love how the light shines off of it. It makes it seem like the Excalibur of scoops!
The key to the Midnight Scoop is the curvature of the handle. Most scoops are straight which require you to use your wrist to scoop. The curvature allows you stop use the strength of your arm to allow you to scoop even hardened ice cream.
That shine hides the fact that the scoops is made from high-quality hot-forged aluminum. The outside is then anodized and shined.
In addition to the curved handle, the head of the scoop has both a point at the end (to help you drive through the ice cream) and flared sides.
The handle has ridges to allow you to more easily maintain your grip.
Time to put it to the test against a common scoop.
The regular scoop, does a passable job but you don’t get much without much strain on your wrist.
The Midnight Scoop glides easily and creates a nice ice cream ball.
The scoop on the bottom is from the Midnight Scoop and the one right above it is from the common scoop. No comparison.
The real test was several days later when the partially scooped ice cream hardened in the freezer. It worked great.
My Take: A new twist on an old invention, the Midnight Scoop has elevated ice cream scooping. It simply makes the job easier. Recommended for hand washing, the scoop comes with a lifetime warranty. Perfect for the ice cream lover (and aren’t we all?), you can find it here.
